Ubisoft has officially announced their new Assassin's Creed title; Assassin's Creed Syndicate. In an industry where Assassin's Creed is quickly becoming the new Call of Duty, wherein there seems to be a new title announced every five minutes, this shouldn't really surprise many people.
In their official reveal, which happened today via a live stream at 5pm GMT, was a general tease of the new game. Opening with a montage backed to dialogue from who could only by Jacob, he talks about utilising the industrial revolution to help the lower classes raise up and instigate a social revolution. As well as general story and time period details, we were also introduced to some of the new weapons in Syndicate, notably a new knife and revolver, as well as the new hidden blade which is now part of an "Assassin Gauntlet" which also includes a grappling hook. The pre-alpha gameplay they also showed looks promising, showing a massive open scale London with bustling streets and horse drawn carriages, the stream depicted Jacob taking out a rival gang in a borough of London to gain more control over the city. Eagle vision is still used and a new gameplay mechanic, environmental take-downs, were also shown. They have also tweaked the combat system, making the combat more responsive and smooth and have introduced a wider range of vehicles, including trains (which you can also stand on).
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate releases for the PS4 and Xbox One on October 23rd, with a PC release coming later in the Autumn.
