2015 is under way, and there are some great games coming up over the next year. We'll be taking a look at each of them as they come but here are the first of a large number that I am personally looking forward to.

5: Rainbow Six: Siege
Initially receiving positive responses from fans worldwide once the game was staged at E3 2014, Rainbow Six: Siege's footage depicted a rescue mission, consisting of the now familiar counter terrorism group breaching and clearing a building of all criminals and acquiring a hostage to escort to safety. Although we haven't seen much of the game yet, I think I can safely say it so far looks pretty great. With realistic, destructible environments and surfaces, teams of either side are able to strategically pinpoint their attacks with deadly accuracy. The potential of the game is evident, yet we are still to see the game in all of it's glory. Here's to E3 2015!
4: Mortal Kombat X
Mortal Kombat has been a beloved franchise since 1992, clocking in with countless spine ripping fatalities and bone crushing X-Ray moves as seen in the latest edition to the franchise. Mortal Kombat X promises a lot to us with it's stunning graphics, interesting storyline set 20 years after MK9 and the "new" combat mechanic which allows you to choose to fight as different variations of characters. An example of this would be Scorpion's variations consisting of "Hellfire", "Ninjitsu" and "Inferno", all consisting of different moves and abilities (the names give a hint as to what they will entail). The series returns for the 10th installment in style and I cannot wait for this to release.
3: The Division
Okay Ubisoft, don't go all AC: Unity with this one. I want it to be amazing; everybody does. If you have to iron out glitches and bugs then yeah sure, delay it a couple of months. Just make sure everything is good and everything is complete and polished. The Division stages some beautiful scenery of destroyed New York to the outstanding Snowdrop engine. The game pits you and friends against AI enemies and other players in-game as you are tasked to "save what remains". With future gadgetry such as drones and advanced grenades, The Division is looking to be one of the best games of 2015... Providing Ubisoft don't mess this one up.
2: Evolve
Outnumber or overpower. Those are your two choices in this beast of a game (pun intended) . Playing as either one-of-four classes, each varying with different load-outs and abilities, or as a raging monster. This team-based shooter, made by Turtle Rock has gained much attention from the gamer fan base and beyond with its simple premise, yet immersive gameplay experience. There are a total of three monsters so far as of this article being written, in which you can choose to combat the four classes. The three monsters mentioned are The Goliath, The Kraken and The Wraith (which is only free with preorder). All monsters boast different playstyles from each other. While the Goliath is an absolute...well....Goliath, focusing it's attacks on brute strength, the other monsters are faster and sneakier, while not as powerful. But be warned, as soon as those monsters reach Level three...you are doomed.
1: Star Wars: Battlefront
Oh come on, what else could it be. At the time of release fans will have waited for ten years. Yup, that's right.
Ten freaking years for a game series that could have easily had sequels released left right and center but didn't due to financial issues. Since EA have gained the rights to all Star Wars games, they have tasked DICE with the challenge of rebooting a franchise we all knew and loved a long time ago (in a galaxy far, fa-...you get the picture). In my eyes, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was the greatest game of all time (as stated... often). Seeing the CGI teaser trailer for Battlefront brought literal tears to my eyes as I momentarily became my seven year old self once more. DICE have had a clear hit and miss record with the Battlefield franchise, with Battlefield 4 achieving some terrible reviews following a release plagued with bugs and glitches galore. Hopefully DICE will learn from their mistakes and keep this a smooth ride.
If I had one request, it would be to not have Day One DLC or Premium; I mean that's just a blatant kick in the teeth. But I guess EA will be EA and some things aren't entirely preventable. Not much is known, although we do know that the moon of Endor and ice planet, Hoth are playable maps. Not revealing much as of yet except for a thirty-three second teaser and some early in-engine footage, I hope DICE will take full advantage of E3 this year, releasing trailers and perhaps some hands-on content. Holiday 2015 shall be glorious, and let's hope that DICE deliver a worthy entry to one of the most beloved game series of all time.

It's going to be a great year...
That's just five. But this year is going to be huge for us gamers and there are oh so many big releases coming up, either with brand new ideas or latest editions in the big franchises.
