If we were to look back on our culture, what would we have to say about it? What would matter to us when everything else was over? Tonight and the People is an infusion of American culture, where stereotypical representations come together in the face of the Apocalypse to reflect on the ideals, dreams, values and politics of their time.

If we were to look back on our culture, what would we have to say about it? What would matter to us when everything else was over? Tonight and the People is an infusion of American culture, where stereotypical representations come together in the face of the Apocalypse to reflect on the ideals, dreams, values and politics of their time. Happy Father's Day to all the daddy's out there! We know that you are probably cracking some bad jokes and generally being awesome. Our sense of humour, strength and courage in our work probably wouldn't be the same if not for your guidance and understanding. So let's celebrate them and their tastes in movies... by Melissa Haggar What do you get when you cross excessive farce, outlandish stylistic quirks and a strange incorporation of sadomasochism? Well, none other than Tip Top, Serge Bozon’s latest outing. An infusion of a variety of genres, Tip Top combines the classic crime drama/cop thriller with off the cuff humour and adds in a little bit of spice with an overall bizarre look into the private lives of its lead investigators on the case. by Melissa Haggar As seems to be the case, trying to pick out a few films from such an expansive career seems like the impossible task. Helena Bonham Carter has portrayed a wide variety of roles for both film and television, and her style is so distinctive that you can’t help but love her. Garnering a multitude of award nominations ranging from the Academy Awards to the Golden Globes (and winning a few too!); she is truly a talented actress. With the release of The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet this week in the UK, it seems like a perfect time to look at some of Helena Bonham Carter’s best films. by Melissa Haggar Sweeping screens since way-back-when, the legendary dance movie is one that has proved successful and utterly catastrophic for cinema and producers alike. Ultimately difficult to get just ‘right’, the dance movie has to contain enough of a plot to sustain the feature on its own, and inevitably be backed up by a load of super stellar dance moves that delight and entertain in equal measure. With the release of Cuban Fury out on DVD this week, it seems only fitting that we should bust a move down memory lane and check out some of the all-time Best Dance Movies. by Melissa Haggar With the arrival ofX-Men: Days of Future Past, it seems only fitting that we should look back at where it all started; the original X-Men film. Back in 2000, after the film rights were acquired by 20th Century Fox, X-Men (based on the legendary Marvel comics’ superheroes of the same name) catapulted onto the big screen, becoming a financial success. This success has often been credited with the revival of the superhero movie, not to mention bringing to life many of everyone’s favourite mutant superheroes (and villains) via the silver screen. by Melissa Haggar Experiment 626 (which may, or may not be Stitch's real name) is an event embarked on by the I'm With Geek Film Team. Film knowledge was unearthed, truths were found and a DVD exchange took place. These are the true life stories from that experiment... To Melissa From Gemma Judging from your favourite types of films, you like films that are a bit darker and have unique storylines. Because of this, I would like to assign to you The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. It is still fairly dark but certainly has a unique and confusing storyline. This was also Heath Ledger's final film as he died during the making of this and this really affected how the rest of the film was shot. You clearly like these dark, fantasy films, but this one is different but largely unknown. |
