![]() Happy Father's Day to all the daddy's out there! We know that you are probably cracking some bad jokes and generally being awesome. Our sense of humour, strength and courage in our work probably wouldn't be the same if not for your guidance and understanding. So let's celebrate them and their tastes in movies... ![]() by Graeme Stirling Apologies are due to democracy here, but when it comes to best onscreen dads there can really only be one winner. That title surely goes to Dr. Henry Jones, archaeology professor, Nazi-botherer, Sean Connery-lookalike and illustrious father of the mighty Indiana Jones (except that’s not his real name, is it?). ![]() by Mahesh Subramaniam It's Father's Day today, and since we've already looked at some of the worst dads in film, it leaves us free and clear to celebrate the good ones. And fortunately enough, there are plenty of good portrayals of fathers in films. Ones who subvert the conventions of the stereotypical distant father, and ones who listen to their children and offer them the best advice. Below is a list of fathers who do just that. ![]() by Leah Stone To celebrate Father’s Day, we have a compiled a list of film’s best evil Dads. Some of the most villainous, awful people that have very unlucky offspring. Though perhaps it wouldn’t be good to have a super villain or a crook or a maniac as a father, you must admit that some of them are quite badass... WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD!!! ![]() by Gemma Williams For anyone who has seen Fluke, and probably cried masses of tears over the film, it will be clear why this film is being mentioned. For those that don’t know, Fluke is a dog who used to be a man and was reincarnated when he met his untimely demise. Thomas, who is now Fluke, was a father in life to a little boy called Brian. The relationship between Thomas and Brian will be the focus of this article, though there are a wealth of topics to discuss related to this film. ![]() by Laura W It’s fitting that June 15th marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Disney’s The Lion King. It also happens to be Father’s Day. The Lion King displayed one of the loveliest father-son relationships on screen. We all know the story of The Lion King, but what was it about the film that made it so brilliant? |
