In this list of films that probably didn’t need a sequel, we’re going to have to rank The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel up high. However, there is indeed another film (aptly entitled The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and this new film has a new HD trailer, courtesy of Fox UK.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was surprisingly thoroughly enjoyable, and the HD trailer for the upcoming sequel doesn’t look (actually) that bad, with its cast shining through the few sequences shown through the 1 minute and 45 second long trailer. Of course, you have got all of the old Hollywood favourites, in the form of the radiant Judi Dench (reprising her role as Evelyn Greenslade), undeniably talented Maggie Smith (taking on the form of sassy Muriel Donnelly), the legend that is Bill Nighy (Douglas Ainslie), Richard Gere (Guy), Penelope Wilton (Jean Ainslie), Celia Emrie (Madge Hardcastle), and many more. Of course, you’ve also got the Slumdog Millionaire himself, Dev Patel who reprises his role as Sonny Kapoor, the young manager of the hotel.
Hopefully, considering the first film was considered a sleeper-hit, and was un-expectantly successful, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel will manage to prove its worth, considering it could be considered unnecessary. So it is with slight apprehension that we wait to see whether the film lives up to its predecessor.
