Something tells me The Nut Job is not one of those films.
Will Arnett voices Surly, an exiled squirrel who formulates a complex plan to raid a factory of nuts and feed his furry friends. It’s going to require his brains, his stealth, and your patience. Two new clips have been released for the film, and things aren’t looking good for this “nutty” adventure..... (I’ll give you a moment to laugh before carrying on. Take your time)
The first clip features the squirrels meeting Andie (Maya Rudolph), a guard dog who wishes to join them on their mission, showing off the things she can do. In other words, a dog with a high pitched voice plays dead and waves its arse in the squirrels’ face. Normally a film that waves arses in people’s face sell quite well, but maybe this one’s gonna be a little different. The second clip shows Surly and his friend Grayson (voiced by Brendan Fraser, who apparently still exists) discovering the nuts, with Surly going a bit nuts (He made that joke, not me) and almost getting caught by an incoming human.
Even by a kids’ film standard, the film looks terrible, and the reviews from America (who got the film in January) haven’t been too promising. But if you’re interested, The Nut Job hits UK cinemas on August 1st.
Good luck, parents. We’re all praying for you.
