These guys didn’t.
April O’Neill (Megan Fox) has her life turned upside down when she meets 4 human like Turtles (Johnny Knoxville, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher and Jeremy Howard) who are dedicated to protecting their city from The Foot (who were originally ninjas, but now they seem more like a terrorist group). They are hell bent on revenge when The Foot’s leader The Shredder (William Fitchner) fatally wounds their sensei, a rat named Splinter (Tony Shalhoub), and they’ll need help from April and her wise cracking cameraman Vernon (Will Arnett).
Ok, so it has to be said that The Shredder looks pretty badass in this movie, but otherwise, it’s an absolute train wreck. The film would probably work better as an animated film, which it already looks anyway to be honest. The Turtles are horribly unsettling, and will be very uncomfortable to watch. People like Will Arnett and Whoopi Goldberg are far too talented for a project like this (Megan Fox, she fits right in). The dialogue and humour in this trailer is cringe worthy, and as far as action is concerned, it’s looking rather dull.
Makes perfect sense.
It seems odd to look at, but does this perhaps suggest that the action will be taking place in far off locations as well as within the city? Who knows? More importantly, who cares?
It might be worth saying for the totally awesome Shredder, but otherwise, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles looks to be an absolute disaster.
