Like the first one, the film consists of several intertwined plots that focus on certain characters. This time round we have “A Dame to Kill For”, where Josh Brolin battles his inner demons until a former lover (Eva Green) comes back into his life wanting to escape her abusive husband, though her intentions are more harmful than they appear. “Just Another Saturday Night”, in which Marv (Mickey Rourke) wakes up on a highway overlooking the projects, surrounded by dead men, and sets out to find out how he got there; “The Long Bad Night”, a cocky gambler (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is out for revenge after being beaten and scarred by Senator Roark (Powers Boothe), but gets sidetracked by stripper Marcy (Julia Garner); and “The Big Fat Loss”, in which Nancy Callaghan (Jessica Alba) sets out with Marv to kill Senator Roark and avenge the death of her protector John Hartigan (Bruce Willis).
Folks, this is the best damn trailer you’ll see all year. It’s absolutely phenomenal, invoking excitement from all angles. As mentioned before, the visuals are out of this world and the cast are great, especially the new editions of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin and Eva Green. It’s gonna be hard to beat The Winter Solider and Guardians of the Galaxy, but Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has every chance of being the best comic book film of the year.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is out August 22nd.
