Whilst the first trailer for the film flipped and double dived in a while ago, Dreamworks have now released a new promotional trailer for the film, which sees the Penguins uniting and getting down to defeat a soggy madman named Dave – oh, and he’s an octopus. If you were a fan of the Penguins in the Madagascar films, they look to be up to their saw old tricks in the new trailer, with Skipper (Tom McGrath), Kowalski (Chris Miller), Rico (John DiMaggio) and Private (Christopher Knights) hitting the streets to stop Dave taking over the world (as per usual – what is it with villains and world domination?).
So, how will the Penguins fare on their own trying to take down a master criminal? Well, it turns out they’re not on their own – not exactly – as Intelligence operatives (named The North Wind) are after the criminal as well, and are led by none other than Classified (Benedict Cumberbatch), a British wolf (surprise, surprise). So think MI6 in animal form. By the looks of the new trailer, it seems that The North Wind and the Penguins might struggle to work together, with the usual power plays and need for dominance coming into the game, and whilst the Penguins certainly seem funny, it begs the question as to whether they can firmly hold their own action film together, when they are the main focus and not someone else – but we shall see.
