Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning and Peter Sarsgaard star three radical environmentalists who look to execute the protest of a lifetime: The explosion of a hydroelectric dam. The trailer has a very eerie feel to it as we watch the trio plan their protest, their new lives and get cautious and paranoid of the locals in the area as chilling music is played.
It’s hard to tell exactly what this film; whilst the trailer gives off a very horror kind of vibe, reviews don’t mention anything of the sort, labelling it as more of a drama/thriller. The film looks okay, it has a decent cast and the plot does sound interesting, but if this trailer is anything to go by, the film can go two ways: It can either be a great thriller or a really pretentious one. There’s something boring about the trailer, not so boring that you want to turn it off but there’s nothing exciting about the trailer either. The film has been described (as mentioned in the trailer) as “the perfect crime drama” and “tightly wound and gripping as a thumb screw”. Hopefully this is all true, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Night Moves is out August 29th.
