Josh Crooks, our games editor, had previously directed a brilliant short One Bad Day (as featured on our front page.) Thanks to that little feature, his talent knows no bounds. And that abundance of great directions comes forward in his excellent full length movie Narcissists and luckily, we have a wonderful new trailer to wet our appetites for it!
Here is a brand new independent film trailer that we’ve been sent and it’s really quite brilliant. Set in the near future, three facets of local law enforcement (a crooked cop, private detective and retired gangster) follow the case of a missing tourist. His disappearance will not only reflect their personal shortfalls but force them into the cold light of day as the three move ever closer to solving the case.
It’s a mysterious tale and that’s shown from the gloomy, almost noir-like style. It’s got something a little like Drive about it in terms of style, even down to the neon title designs. It has the gangster style going for it. The sort of style that is so appealing and intriguing, but equally dangerous which makes it exciting. It juxtaposes colours very well. Some scenes are intensely dark, which is in contrast to the next colourful shot. It makes the trailer striking.
