After the deserved success of Blue Jasmine last year, it seemed the man already got started on yet another project - Magic in the Moonlight. The title already has romantic connotations and taking a look at the and track record, the theme of romance is certainly consistent in his work. Magic in the Moonlight is no exception as we see characters Sophie and Stanley slowly fall into each others arms in this almost supernatural and crafty comedy. We are in the South of France, during the roaring twenties. We are introduced to a masterful magician, a deceiver of the eyes as it were, Stanley played by the charming Colin Firth who is sent to try and expose a so called psychic medium Sophie (Emma Stone). Having made the trip to see what this woman is all about it seems from the trailer that this may not be a hoax after all, or is it?
After all, Allen is a very clever man and I don't think he would give everything away in the trailer. From what we can see here this appears to be everything an Allen film promises to offer - with the added bonus of some magic under the stars.
The film is set to land in cinemas on the 19th September, 2014. Not long to wait for another masterpiece, I spose? Does this Allen look up to spec to you? Let is know your thoughts!
