Guardians of the Galaxy revolves around self-proclaimed Star-lord (otherwise known as Peter Quill,) a thief who is sent to prison after getting caught. In prison, he meets other lawless people and the unusual suspects from other planets form a gang unlike any other.
Let’s look at this from someone who doesn’t have the comic book catalogue that a lot of people would have. First of all, the feel for this movie is definitely different. Despite the sassy Tony Stark and the quips of Whedon, there is a less grandiose feel and more of the hilarious communication at rogues like Starlord and actors like Chris Pratt can achieve. So yes, from this trailer there is a lot of tongue in cheek humour that works at enticing you into a series that could easily have been Avengers in Space.
Boasting an impressive cast; Pratt sees himself with the likes of Zoe Saldanna, the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diseal and the regal likes of Glen Close. While this is only a small glimpse that gives nothing to what the plot will be except a rag tag group of friends trying to defend themselves against a great evil. That great evil, by the way, is Karen Gillian of Doctor Who fame who true looks outstanding in the five seconds we see her.
Is this movie going to be incredible?
Honestly, it is too soon to tell. But one thing that’s for sure, this movie has got our juices flowing.
