Oh Superhero movies, I sure am sick of them… okay I am not sick of all of them. There is one superhero film sequel that I have been holding out for, for a couple of years and that is Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It has been a couple of years since the first instalment and while I enjoyed it thoroughly, I have been more excited to see this than the original. Why? Well by the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, you see our main protagonist find his feet, and see what badassery this guy can possess, but because it’s the end of the film it leaves you wanting more.
Just by looking at this second trailer it is pretty damn obvious we are in for one hell of a ride this time round. Captain America looks and feels a tonne more confident, and has gone from a rookie to a pro. While he was definitely underused in The Avengers, Captain America will be able to show off his skills with a little help from Black Widow. Essentially this film is going to revolve around him adjusting to his new life in a completely different era while trying to defeat a Soviet Agent known as The Winter Soldier. Anything with a Soviet Agent has to be action packed and awesometacular, because let’s face it, the Russians are freakin’ brutal!
And can I just say one thing…HOLY SHIT THERE IS SO MUCH ACTION IN THIS TRAILER…HOOK IT TO MY VEINS! Sorry… I don’t know what took over me. When you see trailers like this, it’s hard not to imagine a comic book coming to life, it is far more than just action film starring superheroes. In recent months a lot of people lost their damn minds over the release of Thor: The Dark World, so with a bit of luck people will feel as passionate for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And as previously stated, Captain America was underused in The Avengers, and he is definitely a character that should be explored a lot more and given the chance to be in the forefront a little more. Just because he comes across as this clean cut, All American dreamboat, doesn’t mean he can’t kick some serious ass! So do yourself a massive favour, and go see this, trust me you will have fun!
