This new trailer by Entertainment One displays Knightley as Greta; a songwriter who hits rock bottom after her boyfriend and love of her life (Adam Levine from the fabulous Maroon 5) strays and they part ways. At the same time Dan, a recently made ex-record producer, is also down on his luck due to losing his job. Fate steps in however when they meet each other by chance at a bar where Greta is playing a new song, which seems to be inspired by her recent heartbreak. After Dan introduces himself to Greta, the two of them begin to rebuild their lives through their combined love for music and wanting to start over again with a fresh start.
With musical cameos from the aforementioned Adam Levine and Ceelo Green and a sprinkling of comedic value in the form of James Corden, Begin Again seems to have the whole package; music, laughter, tears, romance and the great scenic backdrop of New York City.
This is something that would suit a variety of tastes, as it really does have an element of all things that you would expect from actors such as Knightley and Ruffalo, and their pairing seems natural in this way. Both of them have been very successful in romantic comedies before, and Begin Again promises to be no different. Knightley also has a (somewhat unexpectedly) beautiful singing voice, and it will be lovely to see her back on our screens after her last film; Anna Karenina in 2012.
