Earlier this week, members of the I'm With Geek team attended the Movie Preview Network's Summer of Cinema event for 2014, showcasing a variety of highlights from this summers upcoming cinematic entertainment.
Source: Getty Images Hosted by the ever-charming Alex Zane (film editor Cookie's new soulmate...) at London's DSTRKT nightclub, the show previewed such blockbusters as Marvel's Guardian's of the Galaxy and X-Men: Day's of Future Past as well as Tom Cruise running around while things explode sci-fi epic The Edge of Tomorrow, one of many multi-million dollar projects filmed on our very own shores this year alongside Disney' Maleficent, Jupiter ASCENDING (not RISING, Zane), and Mamma Mia rip-off, 80's mix-tape Walking on Sunshine.
The event's organisers, the Film Distributors' Association (FDA), took the opportunity to announce the launch of The Movie Preview Show, a weekly online series that will run until August, providing insights and previews of a variety of films opening in the UK over the summer. The show will also offer links to webpages offering cinema booking options and competitions for prizes to win. The first episode, discussing the bank holiday weekend launch and following week, can be seen below.
It's safe to say, 2014 is going to be a huge summer for cinema, and we at I'm With Geek will be right at the heart!
