The San Diego Comic Con is well under way, whilst the entirety of the I’m With Geek staff sit here and cry with jealousy. Every year, Comic Con delivers a lot of film goodness, from posters to trailers to panels and more. This year is no exception, with so many things already cropping up. So, what’s new from San Diego?
One of the most popular films to be covered this year will surely be Avengers: Age of Ultron and some new concept art has been released. The pictures see heroes Black Widow, Captain America, Scarlett Witch and Iron Man taking on big baddie Ultron and his army of robots. The art is beautifully drawn, and hopefully promises some epic action scenes in the forthcoming sequel. Now if we could just get a trailer, that’d be lovely!
What followed from that panel includes clips from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (that must’ve been a big letdown after seeing the Interstellar stuff), Project Almanac and a red band trailer for comedy sequel Hot Tub Time Machine 2, which we’ve already taken a look at.
Lots of beautiful posters have been released recently, including ones for Ant Man and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Comic Con has unveiled interesting new posters for Leprechaun: Origins (the film that clearly everyone was waiting for), Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.
And finally, those who somehow still have hope in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, were in for a treat as not only was Batman’s cowl and cape available to see on display, but also, another picture has been released of Ben Affleck in the suit. Several people, including myself, have pointed out online problems with Ben Affleck’s chin, saying it’s too recognisable for people to not know his secret identity, but it wouldn’t be the first time that it’s been easy to see through the costume in a Batman film.
So, the content from Comic Con is already superb, and this is just the beginning. It can only get better from here!
