The Reverie is an interesting fairytale set in a world destroyed by war. Amy, abandoned and alone, walks the empty forests of England. Filled with hope and devastation, she clings on to the former that she is not the only one alive. Stumbling upon an old radio, as it begins to play a song, she uses it as her beacon; if someone is sending out these songs then there has to be others out there. But as she goes further into the woods, the radio becomes her obsession; but could it be leading her down a path of darkness?
It may seem that we are hammering out the post-apocalyptic futures here but they truly have us intrigued. Much like Northstar and Sola, this one has a flare and twist where it isn’t about the aftermath of war but about humanity and mentality. Feeling as though the Grimm brothers picked up I Am Legend and rehashed it; the mash up of magic and dystopia pulls you into the story.
While there isn’t any footage yet, the filmmakers Sian Tomlinson (producer) and Sam Wildman (director) have enormous amounts of passion for this topic. Stating that “We think it's a beautiful, heartbreaking, epic story in the making, and we won't rest until we've shared it with the world,” there is a lot of dedication already to the feel and soul of the story; one that will launch this project to stellar heights. Casting Joanne Gale as the solitary star and really believing in the enticing of the human spirit, The Reverie is a project to reach out and guide.
With an unusal but intriguing plot and a team of hard-working filmmakers, The Reverie is going to be a stellar independent movie! The Kickstarter campaign has just launched today and be the first to say you helped Amy on her journey!
