The new movie from Lullskull Ltd is the first full length feature after producing two shorts, but it seems like the guys behind the film really have their heads screwed on and are passionate about venture.
Whilst the plot may draw on some traditional conventions to start with, in which a vast majority of the world’s population is wiped out in a single day by a mysterious cataclysm and at the very same moment a fathers daughters slip into a coma. Are these two happenings connected? The film follows a group of survivors, including the girl’s father, as the try to survive in this new world, along with trying to revive the girl and all the while hoping that a mysterious woman that has turned up at their camp is not going to bring trouble to them as it seems the government is following her and ultimately the coma ridden girl.
The team behind the film have said that they are drawing on early John Carpenter films such as Escape from New York and Assault on Precinct 13 and the supernatural novels of Stephen King, including Firestarter and Dead Zone, as points of inspiration for their work. When they are quoting such classic works as this, it looks like their film should be a good one.
The press photographs for the film certainly make for interesting viewing and I for one am rather curious to see what damage the sonic weapon can do. The snow covered landscape of Iron Mountain in Michigan certainly makes for some striking scenery and hopefully it will be used to its full advantage during the film.
I am very excited to see this finished film and I hope this had whetted your appetite for the upcoming Northstar.
