That’s right, we have more Hunger Games goodness coming your way, and this time, it’s concerning the soundtrack! A multi-platinum Grammy Award Winning artist will be creating a soundtrack for Mockingjay Part 1. This is an artist whose name is known by many, she’s female, and she’s young. Do you think you know? Let us know in the comments if your guesses was right and also who you think it was. Until then, for the big reveal. Drumroll please …
If you have heard any of this artists songs, and if you haven’t then where have you been, then you will understand why she has been allocated such an important job as her music has the right feel for The Hunger Games and her lyrics are deep and appropriate, though her dancing may leave something to be desired. That’s right, we’re talking about 17 year old Lorde!
Lorde may not seem an obvious choice to all for this job but if you sit and listen to her music, the reason will soon smack you in the face and be undeniable. Her music is popular among people of all ages, as is The Hunger Games franchise and the staff love her.
“I sat down with Lorde on the set of Mockingjay’ this spring and I was immediately struck by how she so innately understood what we, as both fans and filmmakers, were trying to accomplish with the film. Her immense talent and keen understanding of Mockingjay’s characters and themes not only have enabled her to create a song of her own that completely captures the film’s essence, but her insight and passion for our project make her the perfect creative force to assemble the other songs on our soundtrack. I can't wait to share what she's done with the fans -- it is truly remarkable,” said Francis Lawrence.
She has appropriate and catchy music, can write and sing the songs herself and understands the essence of the film and the characters? What more can be expected of a single person? I for one, though shocked initially, think Lorde is the perfect choice and will add a whole new layer to the film through the soundtrack.
