The arrival of the anticipated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is looming ever closer and to keep the audience on its toes, there have been yet more titbits released to tease everyone about the allegiance of two highly loved characters.
As the Quarter Quell Hunger Games were disrupted before they really ended, Peeta Mellark and Johanna Mason were announced the winners. As such, they have both been honoured with Capitol Citizen Living Portraits. That’s right, the Capitol. What does this mean about their allegiance, and how will Katniss, who still hasn’t been seen in any of these teasers, react?

Johanna wears an interesting and unique dress, again all in white, which still makes her look both feminine and tough. We can’t have the women trying to opt out of helping to keep control of the Capitol now, can we? A white bracelet circling her wrist has a similar look to a pair of handcuffs. Could this be significant? Johanna has her shoulders back, arms and back straight and her head held high, in defiance perhaps, or has the colour orchestrated that pose? Much in the same way that Snow is orchestrating these attempts at propaganda to manipulate the public? Unlike Peeta, Johanna moves in her Portrait and, rather than the haunted look on Peeta’s face, she looks like she knows her own self worth and refuses to be a pawn for the Capitol. Check out Johanna's here!
Both of the Living Portraits are encompassed in white, a pure colour, for the Capitol to show the public what good and purity look like: people who will do anything for their country, and by their country, I of course mean The Capitol.
Keep an eye out for The Mockingjay - Part One trailer landing at San Diego Comic Con this weekend.
