Once again, the Globes have been and gone. The awards, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, were the first to celebrate the best in film and TV ahead of the Oscars and the Baftas. So, who took home the prizes?

American Hustle proved popular, taking home Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Amy Adams and Best Supporting Actress for Jennifer Lawrence, which sparked some controversy as she beat Lupita Nyongo for her performance in 12 Years a Slave. Speaking of which, it was a shock to everyone to see that Steve McQueen’s historical Drama only attained one award, which was Best Motion Picture – Drama.
Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender seemed dead cert to take home Best Actor and Supporting Actor in Drama. However, they were beat to it by Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto for The Dallas Buyers Club. Over in comedy, Leonardo DiCapario took home Best Actor for his wild performance in The Wolf of Wall Street. But sadly, it’s still not an Oscar.

Over to TV, and unsurprisingly, Breaking Bad took home Best TV Drama. During the acceptance speech, Aaron Paul closed with his famous line “Yeah Bitch!” Bryan Cranston won Best Actor for his portrayal of Walter White, however Aaron was sadly robbed of Best Supporting Actor by Jon Voight. Host Amy Pohler took home Best Actress in a Comedy Series, whereas on the Drama side of things it went to House of Cards star Robin Wright. Best Comedy Series was won by Andy Samberg comedy Brooklyn-Nine-Nine, who also won Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
