Wes Anderson is well known for his unique style. It breathes both as intellectual and whimsical, bouncing with delectable characters that showcase a wide range of valid and quirky, emotions. Anderson has, underneath his belt, an array of movies that are imaginative and wonderful. There’s the Royal Tenenbaulms, Bottle Rocket, The Life Aquatic and many more that have built a portfolio so strong that he even has a dedicated team of actors behind him, willing to put their efforts into his projects and produce stellar stuff. Out on DVD today is The Grand Budapest Hotel, and it is just as riotous as the rest of them.

Anderson’s film is one of peril, intrigue and mystery that is as mad-capped and fun as you can get. Played ingeniously well by Ralph Fiennes, one of his Fienne-r, performances. Here, he carries the role with gusto, able to time perfectly hilarious wit with impeccable body comedy. As he rushes through the Alps and plans daring escapes, it’s his charisma and flare that allow the story to bounce along with this great and almost innocent caper despite the murder and profanity. Along the way is F Murray Abraham, Jude Law, Edward Norton and Soirise Ronan and William Dafoe as a whole host of characters that brim with delight.

The Grand Budapest Hotel may be Anderson’s greatest work yet. It has a wondrous effort for leaving you in a whirlwind as you devour every moment with glee. The crazy antics on screen plus the picturesque sets all combine for this thrilling chase. Helped by the abundance of characters titillating with the plot, Anderson creates a masterpiece. It may not be as extremely impeccable as Moonrise Kingdom, but it has an excitable heart that you just can’t help but love. Endearing, wondrous and almost magical, The Grand Budapest Hotel is a riveting DVD choice for you today!
