For anybody like me who hit their rebellious teen years during the Noughties you’ve got to admit that the much-quoted ‘Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy’ played at least a small role in your adult development. Hell, I bet even Paul played its part.
For anybody like me who hit their rebellious teen years during the Noughties you’ve got to admit that the much-quoted ‘Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy’ played at least a small role in your adult development. Hell, I bet even Paul played its part.
Last year saw the curtain dropping on that trilogy with The World’s End and there was much crying and rioting in the streets. Fear not though, pesky looters, the deities of comedy that gave us those legendary movies – Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg – are once again collaborating on something hilarious. And there was much rejoicing.
Pegg confirmed the news in an interview on BBC 6 Music but treaded lightly when it came to spilling the juicy details. “Edgar and I were having a conversation the other day about it, and it has a title and everything. We're kind of into a creative cycle now." Guesses for the title in the comments please. He continued, “The coming-together thing is without question on the table and will happen when we can do it."
They’re both very busy men these days, Pegg has only just finished the dry cleaning on his Scotty uniform, but it looks as though we might not just be getting one movie... we could very well be getting three. “We made three films in ten years and hopefully in the next decade we'll make another three. I really love working with those guys and I wouldn't ever not want to work with them. It's not even a question."
