With a brand new drama by Academy Award Winning Ron Howard Rush hitting our screens last week, it was a sure set forerunner for top spot of box office. But instead of tantalising and breathtaking movies, audiences in the UK have been scare witless by Insidious 2, enjoying it much more. Topping both UK and US this weekend, it has earned £2,87 million against Rush’s £2 million.

In Russia, a controversial film has been scaring people at festivals. Why? Because it shows a gay relationship. While we may scoff at that here, it is actual causing ripples in the Russian film worlds. Ever since Putin and his heavy handed Government banned homosexual activity, it has been impossible to be yourself. Standing up against an act could see you sent to prison, Winters Journey is strikingly brave. It may just show that we aren’t Putin’ up with the ridiculous laws.

With the successful movie series, Marvel is probably the best in superhero adaptations. And while we are on the subject of Marvel, news came out this week that writing genius Joss Whedon was called in to help Thor: Dark World. After his largely successful Avengers Assemble series and the incredible upcoming Avengers Assemble 2, Whedon is a geek icon. So it's only natural, when the screenplay for your own movie is panning, you’d call the genius in, and that is exactly what directed Alan Taylor did.

Disney has been mixing it up with their new movie releases. Favourite Finding Dory has been pushed back to 2016. As well as this, The Good Dinosaur has been pushed back also to 2015. What has been pulled forward is the live action movie Maleficent. Starring Angelina Jolie, this is certainly a hot movie that tells the story of one of the most famous and, well, malevolent villains Disney has ever had.

Justin Bieber(?!)
Finally, and yes, we had to mention it. Last Sunday, a joke circled around the internet that had fans furious. I mean, after all, people are still fuming of Batfleck. But Justin Bieber posted a photography on his twitter with him and the script with hash-tag Robin. It’s all untrue but it sparked a fire that outraged the whole universe.

That being said, who could be a worse than the Boy Wonder being played by a boy blunder?
