It’s been 7 years since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull came out. It received a lot of hate, but there have been talks of another Indy film ever since. But of course, it does have a lot of obstacles, the main one being that the man himself, Harrison Ford, is quite old now and likely unable to play the part any more. Or at least not in the way we know and love.
So what do you do when you’re main actor is too old? Why, you reboot it, of course!

So what do you do when you’re main actor is too old? Why, you reboot it, of course!
Gotta admit... we don't hate it. Now, it’s just a rumour at the moment, but apparently Disney are looking to reboot the Indy franchise starring Chris Pratt in the title role. Pratt is a fine actor, and likely gets on well with Disney following his great performance in Guardians of the Galaxy. There’s no denying that he looks the part (check out the pic to the right, put the Jones gear on him and you’ve got a nice little replica), but does he have the chops to pull it off? Does anyone have them after the role has been immortalised by Ford? It’s a hard act to follow. It’d be great if Ford could take on the role again, but it would have to be a different kind of performance. He was out of action for quite a while after breaking his ankle on the set of the new Star Wars movie so he’s not quite as physically capable as he used to be. Plus, he’s already got his hands full reviving one film franchise, it’s unlikely he could take on another. But really, whether you love or hate the idea of Pratt playing Indy, it isn’t even remotely what’s wrong with this story....
Indiana Jones is one of the best film franchises of all time. Okay, fine, a lot of people would like to forget the fourth one exists but the original three are well loved and sit proudly in the collections of most movie buffs. We really don’t need a reboot. And let’s be honest; who wants to see Indy if he’s not played by Ford? It’s not even worth thinking about. But of course, it will make a shit ton of money, so logic isn’t exactly going to be in Disney’s best interests.
