The jump between time lines, almost act as flash backs and flash forwards. Playing with time in film is widely popular and here it was pulled off very smoothly. It would have been even more effective if we delved into these clips even further as they were both challenging for the actors and enticing to the viewer. Nevertheless, the snippets we do get are very enticing indeed. Although nearly everything works on screen bar a couple of dud delivery of lines, the ending is somewhat abrupt. Don't get me wrong, I like an ambiguous ending but it would have been nice to go a just a bit deeper and explore these complicated humans David has created. Considering this is David’s first step away from acting into writing and directing, he has managed produced a very captivating film first time round.
An emotional family gathering in more ways than one. Family Reunion seems to be a mere taster of what David Kitchen can produce.
