What would happen if instead of waking up on the same day in a sleeping town Phil Connors woke up in a dystopian future ravaged by war and kept dying over and over again? Well, now you don’t have to keep questioning because the makers of Edge of Tomorrow have come up with the solution. And instead of a comedy, it is an action packed thrill ride starring Tom Cruise doing what he does best; running to help save the world.
Alongside new leading lady Emily Blunt, Cruise stars as Major William Cage, a man who has seen about as many wars as the entire cast of the Dora the Explorer. Unfortunately, that is all going to change because his commanders throw him into a situation that is ultimately suicide and woops, he dies within minutes, nice going Cruise. More unfortunately than this, Cage is somehow thrown into a time loop which means he has to live the same thing, over and over again. Now that is one bad day. However, much like Connors becoming an expert in a lot of things throughout Groundhog Day, Cage learns to become a skilled fighter, learning more about his enemies with every time hop.
Go behind the scenes of the film and meet the director and his ideas. Allow Doug Liman, the creator of such epic movies such as The Bourne Identity, to take you through his visions of exoskeletons, robotic machinery, a war torn country and Tom Cruise saving the day yet again. Although, the movie does look to be highly explosive. It may actually look like a big blockbuster to mindlessly take you away from the blistering sunshine. After all, the actual sequences look pretty stellar and there is no one who hates Emily Blunts charisma.
