In the first video, in which Abrams introduced “Force for Change”, a charity from Disney and Lucasarts in collaboration with Bad Robot productions dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems, we saw the set in Abu Dhabi (which is being used as Tatooine, home planet of Luke Skywalker) and saw one of the creatures in the film (which wasn’t CGI!). Now, another video has been released, with J.J. once again explaining the charity and the competition in which you and a friend could go visit the set at Pinewood Studios and actually be in the film, and get an advanced screening of the finished product.
But that’s not what you were focusing on in this video, was it? Yeah, didn’t think so. As the camera pans out, it’s revealed that J.J. Abrams is in fact standing next to a redesigned X-Wing fighter from the original trilogy. It should be no surprise, seeing as we already know The Millenium Falcon is in the film (It tried to kill Harrison Ford for God’s sake), but the new X-Wing looks fantastic, and it’ll be exciting to see it in action.
Unfortunately, there’s still over a year to go until we can feast our eyes upon this sequel, but hopefully it’ll be worth the wait.
