Disney has pledged to donate $1 million to the cause. Fans can also contribute directly to both Omaze.com and StarWars, and have the opportunity to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII. For every $10 donation made through Omaze (the platform responsible for raising funds), participants will automatically be entered into a drawing for an experience that only happens once in a lifetime. The campaign starts today and ends on 18th July.
The "Star Wars: Force for Change " prize includes flight tickets and accommodation in London for the winner and a guest, access to the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII as VIP guests of J.J. Abrams, the chance to meet the cast, get in the hands of the wardrobe and make-up teams to become a Star Wars character and a scene in Star Wars: Episode VII.
"Star Wars fans are the most passionate and committed people in the world," says Abrams. "We are pleased to provide the opportunity to be our VIP guest on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. Also, for us it is a great pleasure to participate in this campaign because it allows Star Wars fans to help children around the world through our projects and collaboration with UNICEF Innovation Labs ."
