From the director who gave us the fantastic balloon ride that was UP, Peter Docter teams up with producer Jonas Rivera to bring us Inside Out. Like most of us, Riley is ruled by her emotions. As she tries to adjust to her new life and new school after moving away, as many young children would she struggles. It’s nice to think that happiness and joy would rule a child but it seems distress, anger and fear creep on through. Interestingly, each emotion has its own voice; Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). It shall be fascinating to see all of this come together on screen and in turn see how children react to the tale.
Delving into such a complicated zone as the mind, Inside Out certainly looks intriguing. But would we expect anything less from Pixar? No doubt outstanding animation is on the cards and of course the magic that is the short film beforehand. Before this film we have, Lava. James Ford Murphy gives us a musical love story about luscious tropical and explosive volcanoes that takes place over millions of years. Sounds like nothing other than the usual touching tale from Pixar. No clips have been released of yet for both Inside Out and Lava, but keep your eyes peeled for the next Disney story.
