This family favourite, appealing to our childhoods and the childhoods of so many to come, is sitting in dusty video cupboards around the world just waiting to be rediscovered. But now people of the world hit Netflix, LoveFilm, Sky Movies, the iTunes Store, Amazon, your collection of DVD recordings, the Internet (and if struggling find that dusty video and video player) and watch and laugh with one of the absolute Greats of Comedy, Robin Williams.

Daniel Hillard (Williams) is a voice actor struggling to make a break. His high-flying real estate working wife, Miranda (Sally Field) finally has enough following a particularly traumatic birthday party which involved farm animals, a pony eating the birthday cake and a goat eating the front porch Begonias. At the divorce hearing Miranda wins full custody of their three children Lydia (Lisa Jakub), Chris (Matthew Lawrence) and Natalie (Mara Wilson) leaving Daniel heartbroken.
Hearing that Miranda is putting out an ad in the paper for a nanny/housekeeper, Daniel sneakily adapts the contact number and uses his vocal talents to create the warming and soft spoken Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire. All that’s left is to become a woman (which helps when you're brother is a make up artist) and care after his children in the only way he knows how; with love and comedy.
One of the many highlights of this classic movie has to be the fabulous mix-up in the Bridges Restaurant, after multiple double Scotches. Juggling life as Mrs Doubtfire with the family for a birthday meal and life as Daniel Hillard in a meeting with the CEO of the television station, Mrs Doubtfire sits down face to face with the CEO with a man voice drinking Scotch Whiskey straight up. And it gets Daniel his break in a new show for the station, called ‘Euphegenia’s House’ in which he sits in a comfy armchair talking to a monkey puppet. Brilliant!

Now of course this follows the structure of many a 90s movie, but that makes it all the more endearing. There are so many fantastically funny moments that it is impossible to choose just one (although I have unforgivably left out the face-in-the-cheesecake-disguise cover-up moment, and I feel much better now) so please I implore you, reacquaint yourself with this AMAZING movie which is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud and marvel at this amazing actor’s scope and shear love of making people chuckle, belly laugh and grin
Robin, on behalf of the world I would like to thank you for every laugh, giggle and loud accidental snort that you have given us through your amazing portfolio of magic. You ARE magic, and will live on forever in our hearts and smiling-induced wrinkle. And of course every time we see the curly-haired Scottish woman hitch up her skirts, run across the crowded room to given Pierce Brosnan the Heimlich manoeuvre with a cry of ‘help is on it's way dear!!’… And so many other moments besides.
