They simply can’t attempt to burn down the world or create unnecessary mayhem without them! Villains and their henchmen are very common in y/a literature, and the Divergent trilogy is no exception! ![]() By Charlotte Fraser We all have that one character that jumps to mind when we think of the words ‘strong female’, and Young Adult fiction is full of brave ladies who aren’t afraid to stand their ground and fight for what they believe in! In this new segment in the books section, we will be discussing some of Y/A’s extraordinary young females! ![]() By Charlotte Fraser The Harry Potter books have been around for a long while now, and there are many editions and different covers all over the world. The choice is very varied when it comes to choosing what you want your copies to look like on your shelf, and collectors go mad for all of the different designs! ![]() There are so many books that have made people tear up and cry over the years, both with happiness and sadness. these types of books can be considered the most powerful of all, moving people in many ways all over the world, and here at IWG Books, the Team have come together and share some of the books we love to cry at! Here are some of our favorites! One bad thing after another and it's depressing and difficult to deal with. Today, however, is International Happiness Day, and so at least for today, you should lock those fears and worries out and look for the good in life. You know what they say; every cloud has a silver lining. We appreciate that it's not always easy to find, so to help bring a smile to your face, we're recommending to you some of our favourite 'happy' books so we can spread the joy! If we manage to make one person smile with our selection, which I'm sure we will, then we will have done our job. ![]() by Charlotte Fraser P.S I Love You is the #1 Best selling novel by Irish author Cecelia Ahern, and in celebration of St. Patrick's Day, we couldn't help but put two variations of the heart wrenching novel against each-other, and see which comes out the victor! P.S I Love You has been highly successful, published in April 2004 by Thorndike Press, the book has topped charts in Ireland, Britain, Germany, the United States,and the Netherlands. The cherry on top of Ahern's cake is also the big screen movie adaptation, which also topped the box office on its release in 2007, starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler playing the main roles of Holly and her late husband, Gerry. ![]() by Charlotte Fraser In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, the Books team couldn't very well bypass the amazing, talented children's / young adult author, Derek Landy and his amazing and quirky main character of the Skulduggery Pleasant series, Stephanie Edgley (or as known in later books, Valkyrie Cain). ![]() To celebrate Pi day, and that's 3.14159265359 not actual pie, the IWG book team have come together for a small project. We each chose a book and turned to page three, counted down to line fourteen, and are now going to show you lucky people what sentences we were graced with from such a variety of books and genres. |
