P.S I Love You is the #1 Best selling novel by Irish author Cecelia Ahern, and in celebration of St. Patrick's Day, we couldn't help but put two variations of the heart wrenching novel against each-other, and see which comes out the victor!
P.S I Love You has been highly successful, published in April 2004 by Thorndike Press, the book has topped charts in Ireland, Britain, Germany, the United States, and the Netherlands.
The cherry on top of Ahern's cake is also the big screen movie adaptation, which also topped the box office on its release in 2007, starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler playing the main roles of Holly and her late husband, Gerry.
This is an effective cover, and having read the book, this cover really captures the message and plot-line of the book.
The sky was a great choice here, as Gerry (Holly's husband) died way too soon. Holly thought that they would spend the rest of their lives together but sadly this wasn't the case. The sky and the letter is effective, as it is putting the message across that perhaps Gerry is still looking out for her, by giving her letters to open every month.
This cover would look good on any Ahern fans' shelves.
This cover is pleasing to the eye, without giving too much away. This cover also shows some of the books achievements, such as being in Richard and Judy's Summer Read selection, and also the amazing achievement of becoming an international best seller.
These facts pull the reader in and make the reader want to know why this book is so popular. And with it's contents even more pleasing, yet bitter-sweet in parts, the Books Team can certainly see why it is so recommended and loved!
What do you think? Which covers out of the two do you prefer?
The Books team think there is a clear winner here, and have come to the conclusion that the cover that catch our eye most is the first option!
