The Nanny Book Project: It’s a BIRTHDAY!

3/29/2015

I honestly thought I’d missed it. However, as it’s on March 31st, I haven’t!  I know I’m a few days early, but alas, this seems to be the perfect time to look back on the past year and how things have changed over the past 365 days (give or take).

Have things changed over the past year? Yes, they have. I’ve got a little more confidence, a little more pride, a little more self-respect. My communication skills are far better than they used to be, as are my negotiating skills. People are starting to take me FAR more seriously than they did a year ago. The rejections are far fewer, and while some of them hurt (I’m eyeing one in particular, but that’s a story for another time), the rejections don’t bother me as much as they did.

The Nanny Book Project: Updates

It’s in need of an update. I’ve included another staff member from IWG, plus some other tidbits. I’m always in search of people to contribute. It helps the project. It’s also promoting literacy, and keeping literacy alive for the kids I’m doing this for. Luckily, people are still contributing. Here’s Leah’s contribution!

The Nanny Book Project: The Wishlist

The Nanny Book Project is nearing its first birthday (and I’ll be all over that!). It’s become such a near-daily thing; I’m not really sure what I’d be doing without it taking up my spare time. While it’s been quite an undertaking (an undertaking of love, however!), it’s been fun.

What could the Project possibly need? Well, apart from a pile of British stamps (397 stamps to be exact), blue airmail stickers, decent envelopes, paper and unlimited hours in the day, this is more of whom I’d like to hear from. Hence, what is known as The Wishlist. There are quite a few people I would adore to hear from, many of whom I have written to but haven’t heard anything back from. The Wishlist was originally broken down into categories.  It was then turned into a list of goals, which had things on such as “Someone who has portrayed a famous literary character”. After snagging a majority of my goals, it then turned into a top 10, before turning into just a list of people I really, really want to hear from. The following are just some of whom I’d love to hear from and why.  Honestly, the list is huge, but I’ve honestly tried to narrow it down for this, and I’m really, really sorry to the editors, who have been SO patient with this project.
