NEWS GLORIOUS NEWS! Meg Cabot, author of the widely successful Princess Diaries series has chosen to give the fans more of Mia Thermopolis after a well deserved break!
The novel centred for Middle Grade readers will feature a new main character, taking the lead and following in Mia’s footsteps writing in journals. This characters name will be Olivia Grace. Olivia is said to be Mia’s long lost half sister. It has also been stated that Meg Cabot, who has studied Fine Arts at university, will be illustrating this novel and the series to follow. This novel will be published by the imprint of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, Feiwel and Friends, and a sequel is said to be planned for release the following year.
The adult book, continuing Mia’s story, was Miss Cabot granting the fans their wish for more. Fans of the best-selling series couldn’t get enough of Mia and her adventures, and when they ended at a whopping 10th book, Cabot received an unbelievable amount of fan mail asking and begging for more. The Princess Diaries also has two successful movies featuring Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews as the leading roles, and thanks to their wide success, fans became more adamant than ever.
Meg Cabot is said to be very excited about this new endeavour and getting back to writing everyone's beloved favourite Princess of Genovia, stating that “A lot of the readers who grew up with “The Princess Diaries” YA books are having kids of their own, and some are librarians or teachers, so the adult book is perfect for them,”.
