Like them or not, well…there is no not. Everyone likes them, you can approach them with as much scepticism or pessimism as you like, but when you see them, you literally explode with laughter.
So what is a meme? A meme is an image, usually with text and the intention is to make you laugh! Now, I’m not going to rationalize the humour anymore, so be quiet and enjoy my favourite 10 memes, in no particular order!
“Oh Condescending Wonka is your favourite meme? You must have such good taste and wit”
A Screen cap from the movie “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” the beautiful thing about this meme, is I barely have to say anything about it, just sit and enjoy!
But I will say, my all-time favourite is this, real life painting, of Condescending Wonka!
I did not expect this one to go viral, but I did see this facial expression on the Queens face in the 2012 Olympic Opening ceremony, as the athletes from all the countries preceded onto the track, the camera cut to the Queen, who looked, well… Menacing!
If you’ve not seen troll face, you’ve not yet plunged to the deepest depths of the internet. Troll face is used, by… well, Trolls. A Troll is someone who posts things on the internet deliberately to annoy or upset someone, now on the whole this is all good fun, but occasionally you get the odd idiot who decides to troll a memorial page or something like that… The troll face was originally drawn in A MSPaint comic made by deviant Artuser Whynne about the pointless nature of trolling! The Trolls took the image and ran with it!
Here is a face that will haunt you in your dreams… On June 6th 2012, YouTube user wzr0713 uploaded a webcam video called JB Fanvideo. She performs a cover of Justin Biebers single Boyfriend with new, parody lyrics. A screencap was taken when someone noticed the facial expression and since then it’s been matched with loads of funny captions!
This drawing is based on a still shot photograph of professional basketball player Yao Ming, which was taken from a post-game press conference in May 2009. It’s most widely used to completely dismiss something stupid. Enjoy the face!
This is an image of what appears to be a dog answering the phone, with the simple caption “Hello? Yes, This is Dog!”. As simple as it is, this one always manages to get a smile out of me! It’s uses on the internet are many and varied, but that’s the boring bit, just sit back and enjoy!
Oh yeah, President Obama’s here, the man’s so super cool how can he not be? So yeah, here’s the meme, and I’m going to follow it with two video’s that prove, categorically that this man is just the coolest president ever to grace the White House. And by the way, as we all know. Bowties are cool!

I think you’ll agree, Obama himself, is not bad.
This little beauty is one you’ll find in the corners of the internet wherever you find ignorance! When someone say’s something, well something like this…
9. Facepalm
A true classic, the Facepalm. I don’t even need to explain this one, just showing you it will tell you everything you need to know. There are three levels of Facepalm.
Level One Facepalm -
This may be one of my all-time favourites, so the back story. Australian police were called to a shopping centre car park after reports of someone speeding around doing stunts. The police arrive and see a car clearly crashed on the muddy verge, bumper smashed, scratches all over it and the man inside just sat casually. Police go over to question him about his accident, but the man, James, doesn’t think he’s had one, he thinks he’s just waiting for a mate, a mate called James. “Pretty definitive, can you define that?” - Best quote.
Anyway, here’s James, waiting for a mate…
