Spring is a pretty interesting season of the year. Quite like Autumn, it’s a very transitional period of time in the weather. The April showers are mixed in with light sunshine and warming weather along with the blooming flowers springing free from the cold. And we are all finishing the last of the chocolate from the countless amount of egs Easter time is the chance for Christians to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus whilst the rest of us get a nice extended weekends and eat a lot of chocolate. With all that in mind, I’m sure you’re curious to know what kind of recommendations I may have for cosplay to specifically orientation to this time of year. I’ve come up with a list of outfits that would really fit.
In no specific order, let’s crank it up to 6 with Great Characters To Cosplay This Spring

In no specific order, let’s crank it up to 6 with Great Characters To Cosplay This Spring
Easter Bunny
We kick off with the Spring holiday gentleman himself from the 2011 movie Hop. A refined gentleman-y sort of rabbit with a nice waist coat, suit jacket and tie holding an Egg staff he is a very unthreatening and easy character. As a cosplay, this can go one of two ways depending on whether you’d opt for a rabbit costume with clothes on top or prefer to just go for clothes with an alternative to cover up the bottom half. It could be a fun thing to do as a comedic rather than serious cosplay especially around this time of year.
Bugs Bunny
In a list that heavily features rabbits, how can we not mention one of the most iconic animated rabbits of all time? Whilst the idea is pretty simple and silly, it’s pretty effective especially when adding a big, juicy carrot to chew on. Depending on how thick you have the costume it’ll either be a nicely loose outfit for the spring sun or something snug for the cold winds. A challenge: whilst cosplaying as Bugs Bunny, go up to either someone cosplaying as any incarnation of The Doctor from Doctor Who or Doc from Back To The Future and go “Eh, what’s up Doc?”
Anya Jenkins (Bunny costume)
All Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans are aware of Anya’s leporiphobia otherwise known as rabbit phobia. In the Season 4 Halloween episode ‘Fear Itself’, Anya gets invited as Xander’s date to a Halloween party and when she’s told to think of something scary and she struggles, Xander reminds her that as an ex demon over 1,000 years old she should be able to come up with something. What she comes up with is a fluffy bunny outfit that wouldn’t be amiss at a children’s party. It’s an outfit that would work all year round especially around Buffy fans. A challenge: sing Anya’s solo verse from ‘I’ve Got A Theory’ song from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode ‘Once More With Feeling.’
Buddy Christ
Who wouldn’t be a Catholic after experiencing Buddy Christ in Dogma? Everyone can appreciate a buddy style Jesus winking at them whether from a distance or up close. He is the epitome of cool and makes you want to bask in the spirit of the Holy Spirit. Okay maybe not but it’s definitely worth cosplaying at in Spring, a time of rebirth, for a good laugh. It might be worth not taking the costume to church or any other religious building for your own safety.
Frank The Bunny
Frank the Bunny and Donnie Darko go almost hand in hand throughout Donnie Darko just as much as the dark humour goes with the overwhelming sense of impending doom. What makes this bunny outfit unique is the quite horrifying look of it with the expressionless face and big grey eyes devoid of direction or clarity. It works well not only just for a more morbid Easter celebration but also for Halloween.
