The casting for Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Richard III has finally been announced, with several experienced thespians joining Martin Freeman (The Hobbit trilogy, Sherlock, Fargo). This will be Jamie Lloyd’s second Trafalgar Transformed Season with Richard III as the opening production. General tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday 13th May, and are expected to go quite quickly, due to Freeman’s rising popularity.
Also joining the cast are Simon Coombs (Tyrrel), Philip Cumbus (Richmond), Gerald Kyd (Catesby), Paul Leonard (Stanley), and Forbes Masson (Hastings). Other cast members include Jo Stone-Fewings (Buckingham), Maggie Steed (Queen Margaret), Lauren O’Neil (Lady Anne), Mark Meadows (Clarence/Lord Mayor), and Paul McEwan (King Edward IV/Bishop of Ely).
Soutra Gilmour, multi award winner, will be designing. Charles Balfour will be designing the lights, with sound and music done and composed by Max and Ben Ringham. Kate Waters will be choreographing the fights.
Richard III runs from July 1st to September 27th at Trafalgar Transformed, Trafalgar Studios.
