Inspiring change within the art ndustry is something that comes from the large institutes themselves. Though the climate is changing, there is still a problem with getting young artists into the careers that they so heavily desire. And, not to wield a sword so sharp and unrelenting, but the gap between male and female’s entering this three ringed circus called art is a stark, cold and large one.

Now, I have often said, with full force, that one of the most powerful companies that strive to promote diverse is BAFTA. Helmed by Amanada Berry, BAFTA continue, yearly, to scour the nation (and sometimes to globe) in order to advise young and blossoming talents and help them get into their careers. Now, her company will join forces with that of Tate Modern and  to her company is joining forces with that of Tate Modern and Inspiring the Future’s Inspiring Women in the Arts campaign.

The new initiative between Tate Modern and BAFTA kicks off today and sees 150 high profile women from all walks of art unite with a 850 state school girls to help craft their careers, jobs and experiences. On the list include celebrities Jenny Agutter, Alex Jones, Jude Kelly, and June Sarpon plus many many more. Each coming together to support a young woman, the campaign that has run since 2013 has surpassed 15,000 women from all the boardwalks of the art industry giving  the advice necessary for young women to succeed in this intrepid career.

This taster for the young girls aided will see experience and guidance as, not just artist or actors, but as PR gurus, agents, directors, set designers and writers. This much needed course, funded by two powerhouses of art will showcase that there are many different avenues for young ladies to take in order to step further into the “art arena.” Speaking of the event and the tally of volunteers who have and will continue to support young girls such as these, Miriam Gonzalez Durantez says “We are celebrating the success of the Inspiring Women in the Arts Campaign with this being the biggest year yet!”

Hear hear to women supporting women and helping them achieve their goals! Hear hear to companies actively seeking out talent and moulding them into powerhouses of art. Hear hear to BAFTA, Tate Modern and Inspiring Women for a great accomplishment this year!
