Ever dreamt of creating your own comic? Well get ready, because Musomic has arrived.

Launched this month, Musomic is a revolutionary app which allows you to write, design, add music and publish your own digital comics worldwide. What’s more – it’s free!

Created by Ian Crowford, a former teacher, musician and massive comics fan, the app promises to transform the way comics are created, giving new talent and aspiring writers the chance to develop and share their own comic masterpieces with other fans all over the world.

So, how do you get it, and how does it work?

You can download it for free on the iPad, iPad mini and Air. First up, you’ll get the option to design your cover (you can skip this ‘til later or design it first). Next, you’ll choose from a series of different layouts, and a wide range of illustrations from an ever-growing number of artists – both established and up-and-coming. Music-wise, you have a choice of melodies, sound-effects and beats which you can add one by one, layering them to make your own personalised soundtrack. Then you’ll add your story, with a choice of different text box styles, created to match the feel of your comic.

Good to go? Just one click publishes your comic worldwide, ready to be downloaded and read by other Musomic users across the globe. You can keep track of how many people have read it, and it doesn’t stop there, with Ian promising that soon ‘users will be able to sign up via social media, Twitter and Facebook. You’ll be able to see how many likes you have and how people have rated your comic – it’s an amazing way for up-and-coming talent to get exposure.’

Feedback has been flooding in since its launch a few weeks ago, with huge interest and rave reviews from film companies and comic fans alike. So far, so awesome.  The only downside is for Android users, who’ll have to wait three to six months for the app, giving us time to plan our scripts (and get very, very excited!)

Can't wait to get started? Watch the Musomic launch video below to see the app in action, and check out our exclusive interview with creator Ian Crowford tomorrow, only at I'm With Geek.
