Get excited people, DC has unveiled a new Bat-Symbol to commemorate 75 years of Batman! Over the years there has been so many different symbols which represented the relevant time of Batman, but which were your favourites?

It's a great thing that Batman has such a high level of respect that it is getting a special logo to celebrate it's legacy! Since the incarnation of Batman, we have seen so many different levels and depth of Bob Kane's creation, and it's a real shame he isn't alive to do to see how Batman has flourished on the levels that it has. There has been TV shows, movies, unforgettable story arcs and wonderful artistry, and despite the highs and the lows of the legacy, Batman is still standing strong.

You can always look at the array of Bat-symbols that have been created and seen what era they are symbolic too and what they represent, but we all have our favourite eras of The Dark Knight. My favourite is the 1989 symbol for many different reasons. Firstly I love the Tim Burton film, and I believe it's the truest representation of the comics besides the Batman: Animated Series. Batman had gone through a lot of struggles after the 1950's era of the comics as well as the camp yet enjoyable 1960's TV show. And while the 70's and 80's did bring the reign in with the comics and go back to the original roots and core of the character, it was Burton's incarnation which brought the visuals and made sure everyone knew about it. It made Batman relevant to not just a new breed of fans but the comic book readers who had given up hope. It was that 1989 symbol which revitalised the character, the legacy, and made the future bright again for Bob Kane's creation. To me it's one of the most important times in the history of Batman, so much so I have it inked on my wrist.

I hope this year you will be celebrating 75 years of Batman, and checking out new story arcs as well as revisiting old favourites and reminding yourself why you love this character so much.
