After the success that was David O.Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, Cooper and Lawrence reunite in steamy love story Serena. From the title of the film and the clips we see in this trailer it is all about Serena, and I’m sure the boys (ED: and the ladies...) won’t mind about that. Directed by Susanna Bier, the film follows what seems to be very happy couple George and Serena in North Carolina during the depression. Things seem perfect at first but when it is discovered Serena will never bear George children things start to get a little complicated.
From the brief description that has been released for this film it seems to be a pretty standard drama. However, Copper and Lawrence have both shown is exactly how good they are and hopefully Christopher Kyle has made a valid effort to turn Ron Rash original words from this novel into a killer script. By the by, this films looks intriguing.
Along with the two leading stars, Serena brings us Rhys Ifans, Sam Reid, Sean Harris and Toby Jones. Serena is released next month, 24th October, 2014 and it will be interesting to see how this one plays out in amongst the crowd of stellar films set up for this autumns release.
