Project Alamanac is tackling that age old paradox theme – time travel. Presented as found footage, five teens discover VHS tapes of old family movies that sheds light on the possibility that time travel is real. As they unclock the secrets they take a hedonistic route that suddenly turns into panic when they realise their actions have devastating consequences. As they try to save their loved ones, they are sent into a damaging spiral that could affect not just those around them, but their own existence.
This looks like it could be fun, generally playing with the laws of time and effectively helping themselves to lottery booty, girls and whatever hijinks teenagers with a time machine would get up to. However, there is always the fear of it become too convoluted and failing before it’s even begun. That being said, with a relatively unknown cast, that adds a depth of realism to the shenanigans, Project Almanac is intriguing at best.
