Not going to lie, we have been trembling for about a week since the we got wind that the Mockingjay Part 1 trailer was flying, soon, into our internets. The countdown, the chilling reminders that it is coming, has left us alls breathless at the stunning and beautiful excitement that the final chapters of The Hunger Games is going to bring. And it is finally here, coaxing out absolute titillation with scenes of war, uprising, Katniss' struggle and Peeta…poor poor brain washed Peeta.
Mockingjay Part 1 focuses on life after Catching Fire. Peeta has been caught by the Capitol and Katniss is residing in District 13 after her home town was bombed. There is talk of a rebellion that she must lead, only she is aghast at new responsibility she has undertake. With Peeta being used as a pawn, and actively unravelling the rebellion from the seat of Snows web, Katniss must face more difficulties than she ever could imagine.
Look, I don’t mean to get personal here but this is exactly what we needed from the series. Much like Catching Fire last year, the bombardment of footage was released bit by bit until the crushing and unnerving trailer with that epitomes whistle was released. Lionsgate have not been fools by mimicking the same campaign. By showing, here, the different crux’s that Katniss will have to conquer as well as the absolutely painful sight of a manipulated Peeta make this a tantalising and awe inspiring trailer.
