There’s a sea of titanic blockbusters heading our way in 2015, but that doesn’t mean we should forget the little productions that fill in the cracks between the billion dollar behemoths. Little Boy is one such movie; you probably haven’t heard of it, but the trailer we have for you today should hopefully cause a smile to break on your face.
Directed by Alejandro Gómez Monteverde, the story centres on a small boy whose one wish is to bring his father back from World War II. But this isn’t an ordinary father/son story, this little lad has mystical powers that we get to see a fair bit of throughout the trailer. In a very Green Mile-esque collection of sequences, we see this lad pulling off the impossible and stunning the people around him. Is he Jesus... or a Jedi? I guess we’ll find out when the movie drops next year.
This looks set to be one of those lovely inspirational tales à la Forrest Gump and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, though it’ll be peppered with the emotional heft provided by a young son longing for his brave father who’s putting his life on the line for his country. It could be a heart-warming success, or the cheese buffet could well and truly be open for service. Either way, give the trailer a watch and make your own mind up.
Little Boy moves us all at some point next year.
