It’s really hard to tell at this stage. This trailer seems to be as though they are only letting slip a few funny moments including the “happy she is back” over enthusiastic parents, the sudden killings and Plaza being as great as always. But there isn’t much to go on here. This could be a great thing, playing their cards close to their chest or it could be that director Jeff Baena has not really developed it further than the plot. As he goes head to head with cult comedy master Joe Dante and with the film already at a miserable 50% on Rotten Tomatoes, could Life After Beth kick it up a notch?
From this trailer, it is very unlikely.
