In the second film, Douglas, along with Evelyn (Dame Judi Dench) return to India to join the hotel workforce. In this brilliant new clip, we see two shock arrivals arrive. Jean has returned to India with their daughter who was given two return flights in order to give a speech at an international conference.
To say that there is an air of awkwardness is an understatement. Evelyn and Douglas are trying to find out how each other feels and develop together. So of course Jean had to join the party and throw a spanner in the works. As they say, love is never easy.
The clip ends with Jean’s comical line “I couldn’t resist the chance to come and visit the old crumbling ruins, and see how the hotel was doing as well.” Hopefully, we will get to see more of this brilliant humour, awkwardness and acting. By all means this sequel seems like it really will meet, if not surpass the standards set by the first.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2 is penned for UK release on the 26th of February.
