And now Oppenheimer has returned to this area, creating a companion piece/sequel called The Look of Silence. In this film, the focus centres itself on a family living in the aftermath of the genocide, still part of the same society in which their family members were murdered, now confronting the people responsible for it. And by God, the trailer for the film is just as beautifully shot and supremely chilling as its predecessor. Oppenheimer is clearly going back to ask some incredibly hard questions of those whose actions wrought a devastating toll on millions of people.
The Look of Silence will be released in the US in July, though no word as yet on distribution elsewhere.
