The Calling, which tells the story of a small sleepy town in Ontario, Canada which is suddenly rocked by an extremely grisly murder. The police, commanded by Detective Inspector Micallef, must work quickly to catch the killer. However, the stakes are upped as they soon learn that they are after a serial killer who has been committing murders in rural towns across the country.
Some of the clips seem to shed some light into the methods and processes that the police and investigative team follow in order to try and catch the killer; with two of them having Micallef consulting with her team - one focuses on the victim and the peculiar way in which they were posed after death and the other seems to focus more on trying to establish and exlpore the serial killer angle in relation to other similar murders.
The other two clips highlight, just as the trailers have done, that religion seems to play a large part in the film, it may even be the central driving force behind the killer's motives. In both clips, Micallef is seen consulting a priest, Father Price, and they discuss things ranging from how the Bible was originally composed and it's oral elements to rituals surrounding immortality and resurrection.
Starring the likes of Susan Sarandon, Ellen Burstyn, Topher Grace and Donald Sutherland, The Calling seems set on being quite an interesting thriller.
The Calling is due for release in cinemas nationwide on the 10th of October.Read Dave's review of it now!
